Position
Purpose
The
Demand
Planning
Consultant
will
assist
a
multi-distribution
center,
multi-channel
retailer
and
distributor
of
high
technology
electronics
to
enhance
their
demand
planning
processes
and
to
perform
demand
planning
functions.
Work
as
a
member
of
the
demand
planning
team
to
perform
demand
planning
functions
and
improve
demand
planning
practices.
Collaborate
with
other
team
members
and
management
to
evolve
demand
planning
practices
to
improve
fulfillment
rates,
reduce
lost
orders
and
increase
EBIDTA.
Primary
Duties
and
Responsibilities:
Collaborate
with
teammates
and
managers
to:
•
Understand
business
requirements
related
to
demand
planning
and
fulfillment
planning;
document,
and
analyze
requirements
to
determine
best
appropriate
solutions
for
customer
•
Design,
develop,
and
implement
enhanced
time
phased
demand
forecasting
and
planning
•
Design
and
perform
improved
hierarchical
forecasting
and
item/location-level
forecasting
•
Develop
and
refine
demand
planning
and
forecasting
models
•
Create
and
apply
statistical
forecast
modeling
•
Perform
demand
classification
and
segmentation
•
Create
multi-level
forecasting
•
Execute
new
product
forecasting
•
Develop
and
manage
forecasts
for
promotions
and
events
•
Drive
to
achieve
consensus
on
forecasts
•
Enhance
and
institutionalize
demand
planning
practices
Secondary
Duties
and
Responsibilities:
•
Provide
accurate
estimates
of
effort
and
timelines
for
completion
of
assigned
tasks
•
Manage
vendor
relationships
and
resources
as
required.
•
Initiate
and
execute
initiatives
to
improve
the
processes,
procedures,
and
tools
utilized
by
the
team.
•
Creates
and
delivers
articulate
and
effective
oral
presentations
to
a
variety
of
audiences,
large
or
small,
internal
or
external.
Position
Requirements
2-3
years
consulting
•
5-7
years
of
demand
planning
in
CPG
and/or
retail
environments
•
Thoroughly
demonstrated
knowledge
of
the
business
processes
in
the
area
of
demand
planning
and
management
•
3-5
years
of
demand
planning
using
Manugistics
and/or
JDA
Demand
planning
•
Demonstrates
thorough
working
knowledge
to
effectively
manage
time,
prioritize
work,
multi-task
across
many
assignments,
create
deliverables
and
delegate
to
others
as
well
as
monitor
their
work
for
completion
•
Ability
to
assess
the
impact
of
new
processes
on
an
existing
suite
of
processes
and
procedures
•
Technical
writing
skills
producing
clear
and
unambiguous
deliverables
•
Able
to
communicate
effectively
at
all
levels
from
distribution
hourly
workers
to
upper
management
•
Advanced
analytical
skills
and
full
comprehension
of
systems
development/implementation
lifecycle
